PINCE-NEZ

These are a fantastic, beautiful pair of glasses; I bought these with prescription lenses as a modern-built equivalent of antique pairs to go with my vintage-inspired fashion. The springiness is excellent, the color is good, and the design lays nice and flat inside of a chest pocket. They arrived early, taking about a week and a half from the date of purchase to arrive to me.

However, it should be noted that this frame design does not fit well on my Asian facial features (which should probably be noted in the description). I literally do not have enough "nose" for the spring of the pince-nez to sit at the correct height on my face, so I need to put it all the way on the lower half of my nose for it to stay securely AND tilt my head back to look through the lenses. Additionally, the loop for the lanyard is VERY small, such that I cannot directly attach any of the chains from my pocket watches as retention; I had to get around this with a clothing pin.

Overall, I'd recommend these more as reading glasses than as dedicated prescription lenses, or as a functional costume piece/fashion statement. I'm debating whether or not to return these because I like the look and intend to wear it mainly with suits, but they don't fit well enough to be practical for me.

These red pince nez readers are so cool. Much more substantial than mass-produced, inexpensive mail-order versions. I wondered if I should invest in this designer option, and they have proved to be worth every penny. I use them for reading at night on my side, and they stay in place no matter what position I'm in and no matter how long I'm reading, with absolutely no discomfort on the nose. Shipping was fast and client service exceptionally responsive.

Probably not really worth it for simple reading glasses, but genuinely much better than anything else available so I went ahead and bought them. Main advantage is not having to lie down on temple bar when reading at night.

I have had these for a few weeks now and i still really like them. They are lightweight and hold on well. I have dropped them numerous times and they survived.

These are even nicer than I had expected, and they've become my favorite glasses within a few short hours. They were well-packaged by Vint & York and made their way from New York to India with no problems. Customer Service was friendly and prompt with all communications. Be aware that the glasses do not come with a cord, but devising one on your own is easy enough to do. The case is different than the one pictured on the webpage--it's actually better than the one pictured because it is about half the size, which is perfect for someone who wants to carry them in a shirt pocket or in the front pocket of pants; also nice is that the case seals with velcro rather than a drawstring. People who do not have prior experience with pince nez should be aware that every model and every nose is unique, and at first it can require some patience to find that precise spot on your nose that gives the most secure and comfortable fit.

Love these! The only improvement would be a bit of padding - the textured grip that holds them to the bridge of the nose can be a little irritating after prolonged wearing.
